Ted Cruz Lampooned After Liking Porn Video On Twitter (Photos)

| by David Bonner

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas has created a social media sensation by liking a hardcore porn video on Twitter.

Cruz's Twitter account "favorited" the porn video in the early morning hours of Sept. 12,  reports New York magazine.

The two-minute video, which was posted on the account Sexuall Posts, features a woman who comes home to find that a couple has broken into her house and are having sex on her couch, at which time she begins masturbating while watching the couple.

After about 30 minutes, it was removed from Cruz's list of likes, and his communications director issued a statement on the matter, reports the New York Daily News. As the statement explained, "The offensive tweet posted on [Cruz's] account earlier has been removed by staff and reported to Twitter."

The statement did not specify who was responsible for the incident, and Cruz himself has not yet commented on the incident, notes ABC News.

The Sexuall Posts site responded by tweeting, "Thanks for watching ted!" It also updated its Twitter description with the slogan: "Follow for the Same Porn [Ted Cruz] Watches."

Ironically, Cruz has been a leading crusader against pornography.

In 2016, he and fellow Republicans issued a statement charging that "pornography ... has become a public health crisis that is destroying the life of millions."

In 2007, he supported a ban on sex toys in Texas.

Cruz's college roommate at Princeton, Craig Mazin, was quick to comment on the Twitter controversy.

Mazin, the screenwriter of the movies "Hangover II" and "Hangover III," responded with a series of tweets.

"Now imagine Ted Cruz is doing this four feet below you in the bottom bunk bed," he wrote. "Yes, my misery very much appreciates your company."

In another post, Mazin joked: "Sadly, the fact that Ted Cruz j***s off to mediocre porn spam is the most human thing we can say about him. This is actually his high point."

"I never wanted this for any of you," began Mazin's final response. "I thought maybe I'd feel better if two or three people knew. Not six billion. That said? I FEEL BETTER."

It's not the first time that Mazin has made fun of Cruz publicly. He called him an "a**hole" in a 2012 tweet.

Regarding Cruz's support for banning sex toys, Mazin responded: "Ted Cruz thinks people don't have a right to 'stimulate their genitals.' I was his college roommate. This would be a new belief of his."
