Fox News Focus Group Blows Up Over Radical Islam (Video)

| by Michael Allen

Republican advisor and Fox News commentator Frank Luntz hosted one of his focus groups tonight on the Fox News  show "The Kelly File" to discuss President Obama's recent State of the Union address.

The group got into an angry debate over President Obama not saying the phrase “radical Islam” (video below).

MediaMatters.org noted in 2014 that President Obama has infuriated conservatives, Republicans and Fox News for distinguishing terrorism from Islam.

According to Mediaite.com, the focus group also argued over whether or not it was right to blame the Islamic religion for the acts of Muslim terrorists.

After one woman mentioned that Christians had bombed abortion clinics, most of the group claimed that wasn't true and insisted it wasn't terrorism.

One man was angry that President Obama traded five "terrorists" from Guantanamo Bay for Bowe Bergdahl. However, those Gitmo prisoners were never tried or convicted of terrorism.

Another man insisted that President Obama needed to label the enemy and destroy it.

Another woman told the panel to look at what the Koran says and what Muslims were teaching in their mosques as evidence of Islamic terrorism.

In response, another female panelist pointed to extremism in all religions, including Christianity.

Towards the end, another woman claimed she couldn't recall the last time 13 Catholics or members of Protestant denominations got together and bombed some place, held people hostage or beheaded someone.

Most terrorist attacks in the U.S. and around the world are committed by non-Muslims, noted The Daily Beast in 2014.
