Hillary Clinton is currently the frontrunner for the Democratic nominee for president, and she keeps racking up endorsements.
Democratic Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey is the most recently high-level party member to endorse Clinton. "There are few candidates in history who are as qualified or ready for the job of president as Hillary Clinton. I'm excited about her candidacy and her vision for our country," Booker told NBC News.
Though Booker has only served in the Senate for two years, he was the high-profile mayor of Newark, New Jersey, prior to working on Capitol Hill.
Booker is apparently on the shortlist of possible running mates for Clinton, along with Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro, Labor Secretary Tom Perez and possibly California Attorney General Kamala Harris, although she has announced she’s running for Senate, Politico reported.
Dozens of other senators have backed Clinton’s run, including all of the female Democrats in the Senate, who signed a letter supporting Clinton in 2013. The letter was organized by Senator Barbara Boxer of California.
