Video: Rick Santorum Compares Social Welfare Programs to Fascism

| by Michael Allen

On Wednesday morning in Iowa, Rick Santorum delivered what sounded like a victory speech, even though he fell a few votes short of victory to Mitt Romney (video below).

Santorum said his grandfather’s decision to flee Mussolini’s fascist Italy inspired him to enter the race and fight against President Obama. Santorum also linked  “social welfare programs” (Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, and food stamps) to the fascism his grandfather left behind.

However, Santorum failed to mention that Mussolini did not provide health care or the types of social programs that we have in the U.S.
