Michael Moore visited “The View” on Wednesday to promote his memoir Here Comes Trouble: Stories From My Life and enjoyed a spirited debate with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Check out the videos below!
Moore and Hasselbeck were discussing the political aspect of Osama bin Laden’s death with Moore thinking we should have given him a day in court…while Hasselbeck feels you can’t completely trust our justice system.
Michael Moore stated that he believes Osama bin Laden should have been taken alive and returned to the United States to stand trial, comparing the situation to the Nuremberg trials after WWII.
“I think that we did a very smart thing putting the Nazis on trial,” he said.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck interrupted, stating, “That was after the war was over.”
“The war is over,” Moore replied.
“Michael, we’re still at war!” Hasselbeck snapped.
“No, we’re not, actually,” Moore exclaimed.
They continued debating the issue with Michael concluding, “My point is that the way we show the world that we’re different is that we give even the most heinous person their day in court.”
But Elisabeth had a good point, adding, “You’re telling me Osama bin Laden deserves a trial? Where? In New York City? Absolutely not! How dare — and why, because Casey Anthony’s trial went so well?”
In other news, Hasselbeck will premiere her new CMT series “Angels Among Us” tonight that follows the true-life stories of people that were saved from tragic events by angels. We can’t wait to watch!
For now, here’s the interesting debate between Michael and Elisabeth on “The View."
