Michele Bachmann Drops Out of Presidential Race

After a poor finish in Tuesday's Iowa caucus, Michele Bachmann has dropped out of the race for the Republican nomination for president.

Bachmann was counting on a good showing in Iowa; she was born in the state and she is a congresswoman from neighboring Minnesota. Despite a campaign that took her to all 99 of Iowa's counties, she managed only 5% of the vote.

Tuesday night she sounded like she would stay in the race, but a good night's sleep help bring her to reality -- she is done.

"Last night, the people of Iowa spoke with a very clear voice. And so I have decided to stand aside," she told reporters Wednesday morning.

But Bachmann said she will not fade away, adding, "I will continue fighting to defeat the president's agenda of socialism."
