2011 MLB Fantasy Rankings: Outfield

| by

In today’s continuation of Dr. Roto’s fantasy baseball cheat sheets, he takes a look at the Outfielders.

Unlike many sites that rank players in order, Dr. Roto uses a tier system. Good luck at your drafts!

Other Positions

Tier A: (love these guys)

  • Carlos Gonzalez - 5 category monster
  • Ryan Braun - A top pick in the OF
  • Carl Crawford - Should be great in Beantown

  • Matt Kemp - Fell off a smidge, but I still like him
  • Josh Hamilton -A great hitter
  • Shin-Soo Choo - Underrated fantasy monster
  • Andrew McCutchen - Get ready to put his name close to the top of this list soon

  • Andre Ethier - An injury derailed his 2010 breakout
  • Michael Stanton - What the heck—35 HR is worth Tier One
  • Jason Heyward - Still improving his game
  • Chris Young - You can knock his average, but you can’t knock 25/25
  • Justin Upton - Could hit 30/20 this year
  • Alex Rios - Returned to Tier One status
  • Andre Ethier - An injury derailed his 2010 breakout
  • Michael Stanton - What the heck—35 HR is worth Tier One

Tier B: (like these guys)

  • Hunter Pence - Getting close to Tier One Status
  • Jacoby Ellsbury - Needs to show me he is healthy
  • BJ Upton - will this be the year he figures it all out?
  • Brett Gardner - Can’t teach speed; plays in awesome lineup
  • Adam Jones - Too much of a free swinger for me
  • Jayson Werth - Going from the Phillies to the Nats is like going from a BMW to a KIA
  • Shane Victorino - Some more power would be nice
  • Jay Bruce - 40 HR is within his reach
  • Ichiro Suzuki - Slipping a bit, but still solid
  • Colby Rasmus - Needs to get his average up and stop fighting with LaRussa
  • Corey Hart - Dr. Roto would love to be the “Owner of a Corey Hart”
  • Denard Span - Too much of a free swinger for me

  • Denard Span - Too much of a free swinger for me

  • Andres Torres - Shocking rebound last year; expect regression
  • Carlos Quentin - Power should rebound
  • Jose Tabata - Needs to produce now that he is a starter

  • Juan Pierre - Does one thing really really well
  • Michael Bourn - NL version of Juan Pierre
  • Julio Borbon - Wishes he was as good as the two names above him
  • Vernon Wells - Will continue to sink down this list in the coming years
  • Coco Crisp - Produces when healthy—which is almost never
  • Raul Ibanez - Sinking fast…last year to roster him with any confidence

  • Ryan Raburn - Ssshhhh: big time Dr. Roto sleeper this year
