Only five unbeaten teams remain in college football, and those five make up the top of the BCS rankings this week. Oregon is the new number one replacing Auburn followed by the three non-AQ schools TCU, Boise State, and Utah. The Horned Frogs and Utes play this Saturday so there will be at most only four undefeated teams at this time next week. Here are the odds each team finishes the regular season undefeated:
Boise State was well over 90 percent last week, but the odds of staying unbeaten is significantly lower this week because of better performances from Hawaii, Fresno State, and Nevada. The Broncos though remain heavy favorites against all three schools, but each WAC opponent has improved and compounded to negatively impact Boise.
Either TCU or Utah will have their chances jump significantly next week. TCU is favored to beat the Utes in over 60 percent of simulations. Oregon still has four Pac-10 games remaining including two on the road, but the schedule just got easier. The Ducks will not face Jake Locker this week, and Cal’s Kevin Riley is likely out for the season not that they needed anymore help. Auburn’s biggest test comes at the end of the November at Alabama.
