Some people just don't know how to party after a big win.
Take Mavs guard DeShawn Stevenson, who won an NBA title Sunday night when his team beat the reviled Miami Heat in Game 6 of the Finals.
Stevenson apparently went from the court to the lockerroom celebration (which features lots of champagne and cheap beer) and didn't stop drinking until police found him outside a Dallas-area apartment complex Tuesday night. He was unaware of his surroundings and drunk.
According to one account: Officers put Stevenson through field sobriety tests and then took him into custody without incident. “Due to being intoxicated, he was a danger to himself and others, and therefore he was placed under arrest,” Irving police spokesman John Argumaniz said.
Stevenson was released from the Irving Jail on Wednesday morning after posting $475 bail.
After getting into an on-court scuffle with the Heat during the game, Stevenson also found himself on TMZ after the victory when he wore a classy shirt dedicated to LeBron James.
