Diandra’s suing Douglas, claiming that as part of their divorce settlement she’s entitled to half of his dough from any movie he made – including residuals, merchandising and ancillary rights – during their two-decade marriage. Diandra’s lawyer says that also covers spinoffs.
“He doesn’t want her to be an albatross around his neck forever,” Douglas’ lawyer Marilyn Chinitz told a judge presiding over the case last week.
Chinitz argued that sequels are not spinoffs, therefre Diandra is not entitled to any money from Wall Street 2. “They’re not the same thing,” she said.
While Diandra’s legal muscle insists “it’s the same character, the same title, just years later.”
Crikey, wasn’t the rumoured $45 million divorce settlement enough for Diandra?
Greed, for lack of a better word, is not good.
