Running Scared? Knicks Owner Calls Nets’ Billboard ‘Intimidating’

| by Sports Nickel

Hahahaha, this billboard is apparently “intimidating” to Jim Dolan’s employees, according to Yahoo! Sports. “Knicks owner Jim Dolan was so angry over a bigger-than-life 227-foot billboard of Nets owners Jay-Z and Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov on the Eighth Avenue side of the Garden that sources say Dolan called Jay-Z and declared the mural was “intimidating to his employees.”

That’s right... this billboard of the New Jersey Nets’ owners pitching their team to LeBron is right across the street from Madison Square Garden, the home of the New York Knicks.

I think it’s awesome. Prokhorov is showing he’s going to do whatever it takes to make an impression, to show these aren’t the same Nets. And what better way to do that than to take on the Knicks on their home turf?

And the Knicks, uncreative and used to being in charge, go crying to the league office. I hope the NBA stands firm on this one, and doesn’t do anything stupid like make the Nets take the billboard down. In case you can’t see the picture, it features Jay-Z and Prokhorov standing next to each other, with the words, “the Blueprint for Greatness.”
