We are officially sick of this story and all the reports about Carmelo Anthony going to the Nets or Knicks or China or wherever. But, because we are who we are (I don’t even know what that means), we have to pass these things along.
According to Chris Sheridan of ESPN.com, there has been quite a bit of progress in trade talks between the New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets regarding – you guessed it – Carmelo Anthony.
ESPN’s source tells them that the Knicks jumped back into the running about two weeks ago, knowing that Anthony has zero interest in signing the three-year, $65 million contract that’s been on the table from Denver (haven’t we known he wasn’t going to sign that for a while now?).
Apparently, a trade would involve Anthony Randolph and the expiring contract of everyone’s favorite big man, Eddy Curry. It would also include a first-round pick that New York would pick up from another team. And according to ESPN, the Knicks might be willing to give on Danilo Gallinari.
The source also said that the Chicago Bulls are still in the mix too. But so what? We’ll know when something happens when it happens.
