A young boy from Huaxi, China, was rushed into surgery after it was discovered that he was carrying the undeveloped fetus of his twin inside his stomach.
Two-year-old Xiao Feng was suffering from difficulty breathing and his stomach was very swollen when he was admitted to a hospital to undergo an operation to “give birth” to his twin, according to The Inquisitr.
After being admitted to the hospital, doctors made the discovery after taking x-rays and MRI scans and they then rushed the two-year-old into surgery.
Mail Online reports that the parasitic twin would have developed into a boy and had grown so large that almost two-thirds of his affected twin's stomach was taken up.
The Inquisitr, which posted a video of the story from a Chinese media outlet, also notes that the case known as cryptodidymus, or conjoined twins, is extremely rare, if not unprecedented in the world of medicine. The unborn fetus measured around 10 inches in width and was fully formed in terms of its spine and limbs.
