A New York City high school teacher has resigned amid allegations that he had sordid conversations with students about sex.
The New York Daily News reports that 52-year-old Bart Ocuto stepped down from Sheepshead Bay High School in Brooklyn last September. Ocuto is accused of asking one female student if she "ever had anal sex." Another girl told investigators that he asked her "what base" she had reached with her boyfriend. He then went on to describe what each base meant.
Yet another student claimed Ocuto asked her to tattoo his name on her behind. He allegedly also told this girl that he was aroused on that particular day because "I'm going to see my ex today."
He also accused of using the N-word in class.
Ocuto denied the allegations, instead telling the newspaper that he was pushed out because he was a "whistleblower" who reported alleged grade tampering at the school. Indeed, the school was cited last August for suspicious grades.
Ocuto also claimed he was targeted because he is "an older man making too much money." His yearly salary as a science teacher was $73,000.
Ocuto admitted three students were once in his apartment for "service credits," whatever that means. But he denies the sex talks.
“I am a simple man,” said Ocuto. “I’ve never done anything like that in my life. I’m heartbroken over this."
