The estranged, HIV-positive sister of singer Mariah Carey has been arrested for prostitution after allegedly offering an undercover cop sexual favors.
Alison Carey, the 55-year-old sister of the pop superstar, was arrested in a police sting in Saugerties, New York, after authorities were notified of ads that she had allegedly posted on the adult section of an unnamed website.
Alison, who has not spoken with her sister in years after a major falling out in the 1990s, is reported to be HIV-positive, and police are asking anyone who has had sex with her to go to a doctor, according to the Daily Mail.
In Alison's ads, she reportedly referenced the lyrics to her sister's 1995 single, "Fantasy."
The ads promised a "woman with the ability to make the earth move for you and to get you to see stars, oh yea with me its, 'ITS SUCH A SWEET, SWEET FANTASY BABY, WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES I COME AND TAKE YOU ON AND ON.'"
Mariah, who has not commented on the situation, had a falling out with her sister after a custody battle in 1994. The singer and her mother attempted to keep Alison's 7-year-old son, Michael, away from the boy's drug-addict mother, citing safety concerns. Alison said the two have not spoken since 2008, when Mariah called her on New Year's Eve, according to The Sun.
The sisters were close when they were younger, with Alison saying that she helped raise her younger sister during the future star's turbulent childhood, making money for their family through prostitution.
"When Mariah did not have food, it was me who came and filled up her fridge. When she did not have clean clothes, I would pay for her laundry," said Alison, who added that she also rented the vintage Rolls-Royce that took Mariah to her first audition at the age of 16 or 17.
Alison previously asked her sister for help after a devastating April 2015 home invasion that left her with injuries to her brain and spine. In the video, she begged Mariah for help, saying, "Mariah, I love you, and I desperately need your help, please don’t abandon me like this."
In 2012, Alison said that she wished Mariah "would help mend the wounds that have torn our family apart," adding that she wanted to be an aunt to Mariah's children.
"If I had a message it would be, 'Just call me,'" said Alison.
