NCAA Bowl Schedule: Auburn vs. Oregon, TCU, Alabama

| by Alex Groberman

It was an inevitable clash that has been in the making for nearly six weeks. On Sunday afternoon, though, it become official – the Auburn Tigers and Oregon Ducks will square off for the National Championship on January 10 in Glendale, Arizona.

Finishing atop the final BCS standings, these two teams will give college football fans all over the country the battle they were hoping for. There wasn’t a whole lot of controversy as past years considering both teams did everything necessary to prove to one and all that they were in fact the two best schools around.

Auburn, for its part defeated South Carolina in the SEC Championship game Saturday while Oregon silenced its critics by winning the Pac-10 outright in an entertaining victory over Oregon State.

There were three unbeaten teams in the country this season: Auburn, Oregon and the TCU Horned Frogs.

With its third-place ranking, TCU will face-off against Big Ten Champ Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. The Badgers, for their part, finished in a three-way tie for the Big Ten crown. However, by winning the tiebreaker they were selected over Ohio State and Michigan State to play in the prestigious Rose Bowl.
