Filmed in 2005, and originally scheduled for release in 2007, ‘Margaret’ will finally be released on September 30 (video below). Director Kenneth Lonergan's film has been delayed due to multiple court cases over the years.
Lonergan fought for the right to final cut, even though he had only completed one film prior to 'Margaret.' The movie stars Anna Paquin, Matt Damon, Mark Ruffalo, J. Smith-Cameron, Matthew Broderick and Jean Reno.
‘Margaret’ is about a 17-year-old New York City high-school student, Lisa, who feels certain that she inadvertently played a role in a traffic accident that has claimed a woman's life. In her attempts to set things right she meets with opposition at every step.
A sexually active teen, Lisa inappropriately flirts with one of her teachers, while arguing with her classmates about the Middle East. She ultimately becomes involved in a legal action against the bus driver, while her youthful ideals run on a collision course against the realities of the adult world.
