A 32-year-old man recently died after playing Internet games for three days straight at an Internet cafe in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
While other customers thought the man was sleeping, an employee discovered he was not breathing and had the gamer rushed to a local hospital, reports AFP.
The gamer was pronounced dead at the hospital due to suffered cardiac failure. He was identified by his family name Hsieh.
Doctors said it was a "sudden death" while playing "combat computer games."
"Hsieh was a regular customer here and always played for consecutive days. When tired, he would sleep face-down on the table or doze off slumped in his chair. That is why we were not aware of his condition in the beginning," the Internet cafe employee told the Taipei Times, noted RT.com.
In a similar incident, a 38-year-old man died after playing video games for five days straight at an Internet cafe in New Taipei City, Taiwan, on January 1.
