During filming of The Dark Knight Rises, the Batwing (one of Batman's many vehicles) was damaged after hitting a large stop light in Pittsburg.
The high-tech stunt vehicle was speeding down a street when the accident happened. Fortunately, no actors were injured during the wild chase scene, and, about an hour later, the crew was able to return to work.
It was the second accident to occur to the movie in a matter of days. Earlier in the week, a stunt double for Anne Hathaway crashed into some expensive camera equipment.
The stunt double and cameraman were both uninjured, but the equipment was destroyed. The cost of the damage is not yet known. The film's producers, Warner Bros., had no comment.
Meanwhile, Hathaway has been defending her new Catwoman costume, which was unveiled last week. Critics rolled their eyes, including MTV, which branded the outfit “unflattering” and “underwhelming.”
Hathaway responded, “What I am happy to say is, if you didn't like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do. And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste.”
