Snoop Lion, the rapper formerly known as 'Snoop Dogg," has released an anti-gun music video called "No Guns Allowed" with Drake and Snoop’s daughter, Cori B (video below).
“No Guns Allowed" is from Snoop Lion's new album entitled Reincarnated,” which is the same title of a new documentary also released by Snoop (video below).
In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Snoop said: "You always think 21 is your number in the hood, you know? Twenty-one. I've doubled up. As you become a man, you start having kids and living. You put the guns away, and your music becomes Hey, I'm with my kid and I'm living now... as opposed to F*ck that—I'll shoot you on sight."
"If I focus on death, it's going to come closer than what it's supposed to be. You'll become it. I'll say it to my friends: Write songs about being shot at and then the sh*t happens."
In a clip from his documentary, Snoop says the song is meant to set things right with his own violent past. He was charged with murder in 1993 after his bodyguard shot a man named Phillip Woldermarian, both men were later acquitted.
