Christian actor Kirk Cameron shared his advice for American moms regarding their role during Christmas.
In a video (below) posted to his Facebook page, Cameron encouraged mothers to cook, decorate, sing and be joyful, noted RawStory.com.
“If you are a mom, if you are a wife, if you’re the keeper of your home, I want you to know that your joy is so important this Christmas,” advised Cameron.
“Let your children, your family, see your joy in the way you decorate your home this Christmas, in the food that you cook, the songs you sing, the stories you tell, and the traditions that you keep,” he added.
Cameron, who has been promoting his new "Saving Christmas" film, recently told The Christian Post, "You have people who want to pull down nativity scenes, you have lawsuits showing up in schools that can't have Christmas performances.
"It has to be winter break or holiday break or sparkle season," said Cameron. "They want to take that out of Christmas so they don't offend people who hate Christmas. And then we have a new group who are telling us, convincingly, that Christmas is actually a celebration of paganism."
However, Biblical scholar Katie Hoyt McNabb countered: "There is nothing about Christmas in the Bible because it wasn't celebrated while the Bible was written. Christians brought forth all of the things that made them happy and joyful when they decided to celebrate the event of Jesus' birth. I don't know why we as Christians feel that those traditions are being threatened."
