The mystery of Kyron Horman's disappearance continues. The Oregon second grader has been missing for over a month now. Although the police haven't named a suspect yet, Kyron's stepmother appears to be a likely candidate. Given Terri Moulton Horman's past, do you think she knows more than she's saying about her stepson's disappearance?
1. She and Kyron's dad, Kaine, have a daughter
About a year after they were married, Kaine and Terri had a baby girl, Kiara. The child was born on Dec. 8, 2008.
2. Before she was Kyron's stepmother, she was friends with his mother
When Kyron was a toddler, his biological mom, Desiree, went to Canada to seek treatment for a serious medical condition. At that time, Terri became Kyron’s caretaker and moved in with his father, Kaine. Terri and Kaine eventually married.
3. Kaine once gave her a REALLY nice present
On Mother’s Day 2007 (well before the birth of their own daughter), Kaine gave Terri a candy-apple-red Ford Mustang.
4. She allegedly hired someone to kill Kaine
Reports have surfaced that Terri allegedly attempted to hire a gardener to kill her husband. The landscaper told authorities that Terri Moulton Horman had approached him with the murder-for-hire plot six to seven months before Kyron disappeared.
5. He has a restraining order against her
On June 28th, Terri was served with a restraining order and a petition for dissolution of marriage. According to reports, the restraining order includes not having any contact with her 18-month-old daughter, Kiara.
6. She used to be a bodybuilder
In 2005, Terri placed fourth in the women-over-35 category in the Emerald Cup of bodybuilding.
7. She has a BAD driving record
In 2005, she was arrested for drunk driving (her blood-alcohol level was 0.15 percent). Her 11-year-old son, James, was also in the car. From 1988 through 2004, Terri Horman had nine traffic infractions — mostly for speeding.
8. Terri has been married three times
Terri married her first husband, Ron Tarver, in 1991. In 1996, she married Richard Ecker. She married Kyron’s father, Kaine, in 2007.
9. She was active in Kyron's school
Terri volunteered at Skyline School (where Kyron was in second grade), and she took him to swimming lessons with James and Kiara.
10. She was the last person to see Kyron.
