Millennials love taking and posting selfies on social media sites, but some are actually choosing cosmetic surgery to get better pics (video below).
Dr. Nicholas Nikolov told CBS New York:
I see a lot more people coming to my office and the answer to the question, "What bothers you, and why did you decide to come and see me?" surprising enough is, "I saw a selfie of myself and I hated it, and I have to fix it."
A new cell phone with a higher number of pixels would likely take a better picture and is cheaper than cosmetic surgery, but the main problem may be American values.
Psychologist Sandy Hotchkiss stated, "Our values lean toward the shallow end of the value pool."
The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery released a poll in 2014 that found one in three facial cosmetic surgeons, who were surveyed, saw an increase in cosmetic surgery requests due to people's concerns about how they looked on social media sites.
