Melissa Nelson, a dental assistant who was fired by dentist James Knight for being "irresistible," recently spoke to CNN about the unanimous Iowa Supreme Court that ruled against her claims of discrimination on December 21, 2012 (video below).
The Iowa Supreme Court ruled that Knight did not engage in illegal gender discrimination, under Iowa law, when he fired Nelson because he and his wife saw the attractive dental assistant to be a threat to their marriage, reports Inquisitr.com.
Nelson told CNN: "I thought everything was still the same. I went to work as I did everyday, worked hard, enjoyed my job, but one day it came to a screeching halt.”
Nelson also denied having an affair with Knight: "Absolutely not. I am happily married."
In response to the court's decision, she added: "It's tough. I really struggle with it. I don't think it's fair. I don't think it's right."
Nelson’s lawyer said an appeal is unlikely because the case was brought under Iowa law.
