A man went to a hospital in northeast China to get help with a fruit knife that was buried in his skull. He was so calm during the hospital visit that staff members initially thought he was joking around.
After Ho Lung arrived at the hospital, he walked up five flights of stairs because the elevator was full. He then told receptionists, "I'd like to see a doctor please,” according to the Huffington Post.
An X-ray revealed the knife blade had penetrated through his skull and into his brain but had missed any of the main blood vessels, allowing doctors during a three-hour operation to remove the blade without apparently causing any significant damage.
"This is my first time seeing a man's skull pierced by a fruit knife. He's lucky the wound wasn't deep enough to damage his brain," said a doctor at the hospital, reported Global Times.
When the operation was over and the man was bandaged up, he asked if he could go home. He apparently didn’t give too many details about how the knife ended up in his head, but did say, “It's like this, I was playing a silly game with my friend and it went wrong and I ended up with a knife in the head. It was just a silly mistake and it could have happened to anybody,” according to Mail Online.
Doctors let the patient discharge himself and he left with the fruit knife after he promised to come back for a checkup.
