Two Orlando, Florida Schools Placed on Lockdown Due to Stuffed Animal

A stuffed rocking horse with a black box strapped to it caused the lockdown of two schools today in Orlando, Florida, according to sheriff's deputies.

Orange County sheriff's deputies got a report of a suspicious package around 8:30 a.m. in the Crystal Glen Boulevard and Rollman Road area, which is near Waterbridge Elementary School.

Orange County sheriff's deputies believed the stuffed animal to be suspicious and ordered lockdowns at Waterbridge Elementary and Freedom Middle schools, reports

Orange County sheriff's explosive ordinance disposal unit destroyed the black box with a controlled blast.

Orange County sheriff's spokesman Angelo Nieves told "We are classifying this incident as malicious in nature and meant to elicit a law enforcement response. We are asking our community to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to officials."
