Turkish Baby Born With Heart-Shaped Birthmark

A baby in Turkey is getting lots of press because of his heart-shaped birthmark.

Cinar was born 14 months ago to Murat Engin, 30, and his wife, Ceyda, 28, reports the Daily Mail. The new parents were shocked and delighted by the mark on their baby’s forehead, which is a perfectly-shaped heart.

At birth, he caused a sensation in the delivery room, with nurses clamoring to take selfies with the “love child.”

The father explained the scene:

The nurse screamed like "Oh my god unbelievable, he is a love baby." Then three others came and got some selfies. When his mother saw him and his birthmark, she started to cry. It was really like a gift from God. None of us had negative feelings. ... After a nurse cleaned the bloods on his head I was the first who see the birthmark on his head. I was really surprised. When I came to close his head I realised that it was an amazing heart. It was difficult for me to keep my tears.

He says that their infant’s popularity continues well past birth. “When we walk around, all people smile [at] us and love him. All of our friends are curious about his birthmark because of its heart-shape. They say that he is a love baby. When we go to [the] hospital for custom control, nurses and doctors know him and called him as 'Hearted boy'. He already has many fans.”

Another baby with a heart-shaped birthmark on her forehead was born in Lincolnshire, England, in November 2015, reports HNGN. That baby, named Poppy-Rae, was reportedly conceived on Valentine's Day.

Heart-shaped birthmarks are common enough that the website Beauty Helm lists it as one of many types of birthmark shapes. According to that site, a heart-shaped birthmark is “taken to mean that one will have a life full of love. The individual will be lucky enough to fall in love with their soul mate. They will also be fun loving persons in their life.”

As for baby Cinar in Turkey, his parents proudly exclaim: “We love him and his birthmark.”
