The Fresh Diet Food Delivery Program: Healthy and Convenient
Convenience is everything in today’s world. Fresh Direct and Soap.com are a busy New Yorker’s best friends.
For the past 6 years food delivery programs have been gaining in popularity, making losing weight easier than ever for time pressed individuals that have a little extra money to spend on food.
Last week I spent 7 days trying out The Fresh Diet.
The Fresh Diet is a food delivery program that delivers three meals and two snacks to your door step that are freshly prepared by their chefs. Here’s a breakdown of what you get each day:
- Calories 1200-1400 for women (i’m not sure how many kcal for men)
- 40% Carbs
- 30% Fats
- 30% Protein
Here’s a sample menu:
I was surprised at how good the food tasted. Over the course of seven days I never had the same thing for breakfast. I looked forward to seeing what was packed in my bag each morning.
The Fresh Diet breakfast gets 5 out of 5 stars!
Lunch most days was a salad of some sort.
The Fresh Diet Lunches get a 4 stars. On days when I didn’t have a salad, I felt like I needed more veggies.
The snacks were mostly delicious, but a few weren’t so great. The veggie egg rolls were amazing, but the small slices of eggplant with mozzarella basil weren’t for me.
The Fresh Diet snacks get 3 stars.
After the first few days of dinners, I stopped eating the tofu and supplemented with some other source of protein. I think that the dinners would have been better if they had more vegetarian options. I’m just not a fan of tofu.
The Fresh Diet dinners get a 2.5 out of 5 stars due to lack of variety.
Bottomline: I loved the fact that these meals got me out of my food rut. I loved not spending time trying to figure out what to eat next. I didn’t love the dinners but the rest of the food was impressive and flavorful. If I were to do this program again, I’d need to do a higher calorie program.
I give the overall program 4 out of 5 stars.
Would I recommend this to a client? Yes! If you can afford it and you need convience, it’s a great option.
*Tip: If you want to try out the program for free follow The Fresh Diet on Facebook where they often offer contests for a free week of food. Groupon has also featured The Fresh Diet.
