Don't use food to reward your fitness progress. It's a slippery slope to climb on top of and could keep you in a cycle of sliding down and having to climb back up over and over. It's exhausting, defeating and can eventually turn into a goal-buster. When we reward, we have a tendency to go over-board with the thought,"I deserve this!" ...And you do deserve kudo's, just not the kind that impedes your hard work.
Instead, treat yourself to something non-edible for a workout-nutritionalized-week well done. Go shopping, give yourself a spa treatment, or an extra round of golf, but keep food temptation away. You can incorporate your favorite meal into your food plan (in moderation), but look at it as part of your lifestyle, not and over-board reward. Eating wrong food to reward yourself is like eating glue…it keeps you stuck.
