Rep. Michele Bachmann's Craziest Claims (Video)

Controversial Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN) announced today that she would not be running for re-election in 2014. Some speculate her decision is based on reports that her campaign may have improperly used funds, which Rep. Bachmann has denied.

While serving in office, Rep. Bachmann has made several claims that have bordered on the bizarre.

Mediaite.com has assembled some of these moments in the videos below.

In 2011, Rep. Bachmann claimed that God sent Hurricane Irene to the east coast and caused an earthquake in Virginia to get the attention of politicians.

"I don’t know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We’ve had an earthquake. We’ve had a hurricane. He said, ‘Are you going to start listening to me here?’" claimed Rep. Bachmann.

Rep. Bachmann told the "Today" show in 2012 that the HPV vaccine somehow caused "mental retardation," which was debunked by medical experts.

Rep. Bachmann has been a huge foe of Obamacare and warned in 2013 that it must be repealed "before it literally kills women, kills children, kills senior citizens.”
