Police Offer $500 Rewards to Teens Who Snitch Via Text Message


Do you want to be known as a Nokia Narc or a Samsung Snitch? Well, text, tattle and save: that's what one police department is telling high school students to do when they see "drug activity or?other illegal things going on." Police in Suffolk County, New York are reaching out to teens, offering a payment of $500 -- for tips that lead to arrests. The cops promise that students will remain anonymous.

But some parents are upset about the program. They say tipsters won't remain anonymous and could jeopardize their safety. Find out about the debate:
