Person Exposed To Thomas Eric Duncan Rushed To Hospital With Ebola-Like Symptoms

A person in Frisco, Texas, who claims to have been exposed to ‘patient zero,’ Thomas Eric Duncan, has reportedly been rushed to the hospital with Ebola-like symptoms.

According to CBS Dallas, a call was made to authorities right after 12:00 p.m. about an individual who was “exhibiting signs and symptoms of Ebola.”

Little is known about the specifics of the person's condition at the moment, but CBS 11 has reportedly confirmed that the person in question “checked yes to one of the screening questions regarding travel to West Africa.”

The extent of the patient’s relationship with Duncan has also not been clarified.

Duncan, the first person to be diagnosed with Ebola on U.S. soil, died early Wednesday.

A news conference will be held at 3:30 pm at Frisco’s Central Fire Station to explain the status of the person's condition.

Update 1 - via CBS:

It is not clear how the patient had contact with Duncan.  The CDC says the patient did not have direct contact with Duncan and he was not one of the 48 people being monitored by federal, state and local health officials.
