It is not uncommon to see people taking things like protesting to the extreme to prove a point. However, there is a fine line between that which is considered normal and that which is considered outright weird and disgusting. In this case, the latter suits an anti-vegan protestor who ate a raw decapitated squirrel at a vegan market in London.
Sv3rige protests by eating raw headless squirrel
The anti-vegan protestor who goes by “Sv3rige” on YouTube shocked many onlookers who visited London’s Soho Vegan Market when he ate the squirrel. He embarked on his mission of anti-vegan protesting with a T-shirt that read “VEGANISM = MALNUTRITION” while also rocking a ponytail.
“We were unaware of the planned protest on Saturday, do not condone the actions of known anti-vegan YouTuber Sv3rige and are disappointed that it disrupted what is normally a vibrant and diverse weekly event,” the founders of the Soho Vegan Market pointed out.
A video recorded by one of the people who was at the vegan market at the time of the incident revealed that the squirrel-eating anti-vegan protestor also had with him a chicken that was apparently raw. He was also not the only anti-vegan protestor that was present at the Soho Vegan Market that day. Due to the protest, the police arrested two individuals for offenses against public order, but they did not reveal whether Sv3rige was one of them. However, photos taken at the market did show police officers confronting Sv3rige nonetheless.
Sv3rige says vegan diets deprive us of vital nutrients
Sv3rige defended himself in a statement saying that his message against veganism is that it is essentially malnutrition. He also added that he and many others feed on raw meat as a show of how humans eat in nature. The anti-vegan protestor claims that plants lack more than 15 nutrients which can only be found in meat. However, a member of the Vegan Society expressed a different opinion stating that vegan diets can offer all the necessary nutrients. The British Dietetic Association also shares a similar sentiment that vegan diets are completely healthy for people of all ages.
One week before he ate the decapitated squirrel, Sv3rige also ate a raw pig’s head in public. He was interviewed by Sky News during which he stated that it is human cruelty to stick to a vegan diet. The anti-vegan protestor also reported that some of his fellow protestors became sick due to malnutrition during the time in which they were on vegan diets.
