Online Magazine "nzgirl": Show Us Your Breasts

An online magazine in New Zealand is asking female readers to send in topless photos of themselves for use on the Web site, but it's all for a good cause -- for breast cancer awareness.

The magazine called nzgirl ( is promising to donate $750 to breast cancer research for every 50 bare-breasted photos that readers upload.

Editor Tee Twyford is defending the campaign, and said breast cancer survivors have reacted positively to it.

"The strategy behind this was centered on breasts still being a very controversial topic in a fairly conservative country," she said in an editorial.

Critics, however, said the campaign trivialized a life-and-death issue.

"I highly doubt nzgirl would put up photos of breast cancer survivors," reader Bonnie Hartfield wrote on the site.
