An Arizona mother recently gave birth to a baby girl who shares the same birthday as her mother and grandmother.
On Jan. 18, Aimee Hernando was celebrating her 33rd birthday while her mother celebrated her 56th. As it turns out, Hernando spent her birthday the same way her mother spent her 23rd: giving birth to her daughter, Miracle Joy, reports ABC News.
Miracle Joy was due at the end of January and Hernando thought that it would be nice if she was born on the 18th just like her mother and grandmother. Hernando got her wish, even though the odds of that happening were 1 in 133,225, according to Stanford University mathematician Keith Devlin.
The amazing coincidence doesn’t stop there.
“My mom’s birth weight was 6 pounds 10 ounces, mine was 6 pounds 9 ounces, and Miracle’s was 6 pounds 8 ounces,” Hernando told ABC News. “We just thought that was so cool!”
Aimee said that when she went into labor on Jan. 18 she thought to herself, “Is this really happening?” She told her doctor that “she has to come before midnight.”
Hernando says she struggled with infertility for “about nine years.” She always planned to name her first born daughter Miracle Joy.
Miracle has three older sibling, ages 11, 8 and 14 months. The two oldest siblings were adopted.
