Miranda Kerr on Giving Birth: "I Thought I was Going to Die"

Miranda Kerr, the Victoria’s Secret model and wife of none other than actor Orlando Bloom, has spoken out about her recent labour.

Kerr gave birth to the couple’s first born son, Flynn, in January. The experience was that ‘intense’, we may have to take bets to see if Flynn ends up an only child.

In an interview with Australia’s In Style magazine (via E! Online), Kerr says of experiencing childbirth: “I actually thought I was going to die at one point and left my body. I was looking down on myself – the pain was so intense. I kept thinking, ‘how do women do this? But if other women have done this, I can do it too.’ I was determined.”

In what appears to be an effort to put all mothers off childbirth, she revealed she was in labour for 27 hours. (Darling, if you think labour is bad, wait until you experience the ‘Terrible Two’s’ and the teenage years. That is when you want to push them back up where they came from).

As has happened with countless women before her, that time is now behind her and forgotten. Kerr reveals she loves her son, Flynn. Taking advantage of the time before she had to head back to work, she says: “We spent every minute together, morning and night, for those weeks before I went back to work. He sleeps in our bed every night.”

Another interjection from me again – you share your bed with a man like Bloom, and baby sleeps with you. Honey, wake up and smell the roses. Although I was offering odds on Flynn being an only child!

Ladies, if you two want to look like Kerr, she reveals her beauty secrets. She leads a very ‘organic’ lifestyle and the secret ingredient is Coconut Oil.  She reveals: “I personally take four tablespoons of coconut oil per day, either on my salads, in my cooking or in my cups of green tea. I will not go a day without coconut oil.”

Coconut oil and green tea – a match made in heaven.
