A woman has claimed she can see her late mother’s face in the image of her sonogram.
Rebecca Melia, 30, lost her mother in February to kidney cancer and never had the chance to tell her she was pregnant, Mirror reports. According to Melia, the family has felt the matriarch’s presence since her death.
On June 18, Melia went to the doctor for a sonogram, according to the Liverpool Echo. When the nurse took an unusually long time to return a photo of the scan, Melia felt like something was wrong.
“They had me there for a long time and I could tell they had seen something on the scan,” Melia said. “I was convinced it was something wrong with my boy.”
The nurse returned with a photo and handed it to Melia, saying that she would “like this one” with a smile on her face. According to Melia, the nurse knew her mother had passed away.
When Melia looked at the scan, she saw her late mother’s face in it.
“I couldn’t believe it; I was shocked, happy and overwhelmed all at the same time,” Melia said. “My mom’s face, which I longed to see, was there as clear as day on my scan.”
Melia immediately posted the photo and her story to Facebook. She explained that her child would have been her mother’s fourteenth grandchild. Melia added that she wanted to bring comfort to anyone who had lost a loved one and show proof that they are “still here” even after death.
A similar case occurred recently when one woman claimed she could see her dead grandmother's face in her sonogram.
