Hundreds Of Maggots Wiggle Inside Man's Ear Canal (Video)

A gruesome video (below) shows hundreds of maggots squirming inside a Chinese man's ear.

In the video, the tiny creatures are moving around deep inside the man's ear canal and feeding on his flesh.

Doctors are shown putting an endoscope inside the man's ear.

Medics then wash out his ear and remove the maggots with a pair of tweezers.

The man, who has not been identified, declined interviews with press and has not revealed where the insects came from, according to the Daily Mail.

One explanation for the infestation is that flies laid eggs inside the man's body and once the eggs hatched, flew to his ears, laying more eggs, which then hatched into maggots, according to a doctor in the video.

One medic in the clip says the maggots caused small injuries, including bite marks.

This type of infestation is known as aural myiasis. It is common in the tropics and subtropics, but is usually seen in children under the age of 10 or in people who are already sick.
