A newlywed teacher from Pennsylvania admitted in open court to having a sexual relationship with one of her 17-year-old students. Rachel Farrell (pictured), 26, pleaded guilty in Northampton County Court to one count of corrupting a minor.
The details of the illicit affair were made public last February, when it was revealed that Farrell
and one of her 11th grade students at Bangor Area High School (pictured) were meeting for some “extracurricular activities” in Farrell’s car and a local Ramada Inn. The current charge means Farrell faces up to five years behind bars.
The victim, who is now 18, came forward and turned Farrell in to police. He communicated via Facebook that he and Farrell had sex “numerous times at many different locations.” According to Farrell’s colleagues, he was not the only student that the troubled teacher sexually abused. Farrell allegedly confessed to other colleagues that she had sex with at least two 17-year-old students.
Assistant District Attorney Lara Mammana Kash declined to comment to local papers on the investigation or the identities of any potential victims.
