Grandmother Janet Strickland (pictured) has been charged with with one count of first-degree murder and armed robbery with a firearm after she allegedly paid her grandson to kill her husband, William Strickland.
William Strickland, 72, was fatally shot near his home in Chicago, while on his way to dialysis, reports NBC Chicago.
Janet Strickland, 64, watched as her grandson, also named William Strickland, allegedly shot and killed her husband.
She then stole a bag of money, while her husband lay shot on the street, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Janet Strickland allegedly used the stolen money to take her grandson shopping.
The 19-year-old grandson was held without bond on March 30 in connection with the murder.
Janet Strickland was held on a $500,000 bond on Saturday, but failed to make her court hearing because she is receiving treatment for a lung disease.
