The E! channel offended viewers yesterday during its pre-coverage of the Golden Globe Awards.
According to Variety, the cable network ran a “fun fact” that stated, “Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991.”
While viewers were outraged, they also tweeted their own "fun facts" such as "Ryan Seacrest is wearing a diaper."
On Sunday night, E! issued an apology via The Hollywood Reporter: "We regret the insensitive classification of Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's diagnosis during our Eonline [sic] live stream. We understand the serious nature of the disease and sincerely apologize."
In other Golden Globe news, Dan Goor, the co-creator of the television show "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," gave an odd acceptance speech after winning best TV comedy series (video below).
According to NewsBusters.org, Goor stated, "And I almost went to med school, I decided to do this. [Pointing at the award] This is way better, way better than saving a human life. Thank you."
