Dakota Fanning Ad Banned in UK; Too Sexual

The United Kingdom has banned a perfume ad featuring teenage actress Dakota Fanning, saying it sexualizes children.

The ad for Marc Jacobs' Oh, Lola! fragrance shows the 17-year-old Fanning posing with an oversized bottle of the perfume perched between her legs. The New York Daily News reports that UK's Advertising Standards Authority said in a statement that the ad is simply unacceptable:

“We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualize a child.”

But the company that makes the perfume, Coty, is defending the ad. It tells the British newspaper the Telegraph that the ad is not sexually inappropriate. It claims the large bottle between Fanning's legs is "provoking, but not indecent."
