You don't see this every day, or ever, for that matter -- an image in an x-ray that looks like a man in agony.
The Toronto Star reports that back in 2009 a man went to Queens University hospital complaining of discomfort in his groin area. An x-ray revealed a tumor in one of his testicles. But the image on the x-ray was unlike any doctors had ever seen.
“It was very ghoulish, like a man screaming in pain. His mouth was open and it looked like one eye was gouged out,” said urologist Dr. Naji Touma.
The image was sent to the medical journal Urology and it only recently got around to publishing it, under the headline The Face of Testicular Pain: A Surprising Ultrasound Finding.
The article said:
A brief debate ensued on whether the image could have been a sign from the deity (perhaps “Min” the Egyptian god of male virility); however, the consensus deemed it a mere coincidental occurrence rather than a divine proclamation."
Fortunately for the man his screaming tumor turned out to be benign, but he did have to have his testicle removed.
