How many times have you been sitting on your couch and said to yourself, "I could really go for a sizzlingly juicy Whopper right about now, but I really don't want to get up and have to put pants on"?
Well, your couch potato dreams have come true -- Burger King home delivery is here!
Well, it is only "here" if you live in the Washington, D.C. area, where the burger chain is testing it out at a handful of restaurants.
Home food delivery in the United States has been the domain of pizza places and Chinese restaurants, but Burger King already offers delivery in Asia and Europe. The chain told The Washington Post it hopes its successes there can translate to the American market.
“Pizza is what people think of first when it comes to delivery, and they have done a wonderful job at it,” said Jonathan Fitzpatrick, Burger King’s chief brand and operations manager. “But really there is no good burger delivery in the United States. That’s our challenge to try to do that."
The company said it picked the D.C. area because it is a good mix of demographics -- urban and suburban with a lot of working families.
