Big news out of Green Bay Packers practice Wednesday -- Charles Woodson was on the field.
The star cornerback suffered a concussion during Sunday's win over the Giants when he collided with New York running back Ahmad Bradshaw. Under NFL concussion rules, he was not allowed to return even though he appeared to be functioning well.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Woodson's presence on the practice field was part of league-ordered protocol that must be completed before a player who had a concussion can play again.
McCarthy said he expects Woodson to play Sunday against the Raiders at Lambeau. If he can't, the Sporting News reports that "Jarrett Bush would replace him in the slot and Sam Shields would replace him in the base."
