Brit Singer Lily Allen Loses Baby at Six Months Pregnant

British pop singer Lily Allen has suffered a late-term miscarriage after six months of pregnancy. She and interior designer boyfriend Sam Cooper, 32, lost their baby on October 30.

Allen was rushed to hospital last Thursday when she began to experience stomach pains. She tweeted the message "Say a little prayer" to her two million Twitter followers while she was still in hospital. Doctors spent many hours trying to save Allen's unborn child, but later, one of her spokespeople released this statement: "It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby."

Allen, 25, previously suffered a miscarriage in 2007, while she was dating fellow musician Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers.

Earlier in the week, Allen had pulled out of a charity ball hosted by Elton John, saying she'd "picked up an infection."

Fellow British celebrities have come out in support of Allen: former Spice Girl Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton tweeted, "Thinking of Lily Allen and her partner at this very sad time. Sending them lots of love."
