Just hours after Victoria Beckham gave birth, soccer star hubby David has announced the name of their new baby girl.
After months of speculation the name is finally in: Harper Seven Beckham.
David confirmed the news on his Facebook page.
“I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham,” he wrote. “She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7:55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx.”
Harper is the first daughter for the Beckhams, who are already parents to sons Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 6.
The name Seven is believed to be a reference to David’s football number when he played for Manchester United and England.
A source tells The Sun of the name: “The couple loved the name Harper. It has no hidden meaning – they just fell for the name and think it has a lovely sound.
“They went for Seven as a middle name as they think it is a lucky and spiritual number. And the baby arrived around 7am in July – the seventh month.”
As for Harper, a source tells the Daily Mail: “Harper is an old English name something Victoria has always liked.”
The Sun also speculates that Vic has appeared in glossy mag Harper’s Bazaar several times. That’s more like it!
Congrats to them both!
