Are You Getting Enough Grains in Your Diet?


According to the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, even though the USDA recommends eating at least three servings of grains per day, most Americans only have one.

Sick of the same old grains? I know I can’t just be happy eating rice at every meal.  Check out the list below to try something new or switch up your grainage (yea, I just made up a word).

  • Amaranth
  • Brown rice
  • Buckwheat
  • Bulgur
  • Millet
  • Oatmeal/Oats
  • Quinoa (technically a seed but does fall under the grain category).
  • Sorghum
  • Triticale
  • Wheatberries
  • Whole cornmeal
  • Whole-wheat flour/bread/wraps/pasta
