We all know that research shows that working out with your partner can lead to more consistent workouts and better results (support system and accountability, hello!). Not to mention that working out with your lovah can get those endorphins going and make you feel a little friskier than usual. But if you’re ready to take your workouts to the next o0h-la-la level, do we have the workout DVD for you! The three-disc We Are Fit for 2 set is definitely something I’ve never seen—well, outside of skin-a-max or Cirque du Soleil.
The We Are Fit for 2 is designed around the fitness concept called “partnering,” where you use your own body weight against your partner’s for an intimate and pretty good resistance and cardio workout. The first two DVDs in the set are a little repetitive (honestly, they should be on one DVD), but they teach you how to do each partner move correctly and with modifications. The instruction on these is pretty good, and some of the moves are unique—almost like suspension training but with your partner as your TRX. Or the moves are like sex with your workout clothes on with lots of moves where you’re in—ahem—compromising positions. (And I chose the word “positions” on purpose.) Also on the first two DVDs you get a short 30-minute circuit workout that has no instruction, just swanky music and close-up body shots of the moves for you to follow along with. In the third DVD you get six mini-circuits that are broken down into lower-body, chest, shoulders, back, arms and abs, plus a 23-minute full-body circuit. Again, I’m not sure that this needed to be on its own DVD, but the full circuit is a nice culmination of all the sexy moves you learn.
I do think that many of the moves are unique and definitely challenging (in a few you do a headstand!), but I wonder how this would work for the average couple that might be a few pounds overweight or mismatched in height or size. In some of the moves the male picks up the female, which works beautifully in the DVD with the fitness instructors, but in real life? May not work out so well.
FBG Rating (Out of 5):

Meets Expectations: ★★★★
Fit Bottom line: Couples pretty equal in respective sizelooking for a little workout in their foreplay.
