13-Year-Old Thought To Be World's Youngest Father Gets Some Unfortunate News

A 13-year-old British boy was assumed to be the father of a young girl born to his 15-year-old girlfriend, making him the youngest father in the country’s history. Now, after DNA tests confirmed he isn’t the father, the real dad is speaking out.

Maisie Roxeanne was born to 15-year-old Chantelle Steadman, and at the time, 13-year-old Alfie Patten believed he was the father. The young teen initially feared that he would be in trouble when his mother found out he fathered a baby and that the public would judge the couple for keeping it.

“When my mom found out, I thought I was going to get in trouble,” Patten said at the time. “We wanted to have the baby but were worried how people would react.”

The two young teens believed that a first time unprotected sexual encounter lead to the pregnancy, but as it turns out, Steadman had actually had sex with multiple other people. Now, after DNA results confirmed that Patten isn’t Maisie Roxeanne’s father, a 15-year-old boy has come forward claiming that he is the father.

15-year-old Tyler Barker says he feared he was the baby’s father initially because he had unprotected sex with Steadman, but he thought that she had taken care of it.

“I did not use any contraception but Chantelle told me that she would take the morning after pill. I thought she would take care of it,” said Barker.

Patten’s mother Nicola claims that the teen was reportedly “devastated” upon finding out that he isn’t the baby’s father.

“He did cry after we found out he wasn’t the dad,” said Nicola. “When we told Alfie the baby wasn’t his he was absolutely hysterical. He burst out crying and then he ran out of the room.”
